Investment Banking Associate – Special Situations and Restructuring

Responsibilities
* Support Principals and Vice Presidents in all phases of out-of-court workouts, restructurings and sales, prepackaged plans of reorganization and chapter 11 processes.
* Provide financial analysis regarding restructuring and turnaround services for underperforming companies and their stakeholders.
* Critically analyze financial statements, models, reports and company forecasts.
* Assist Principals, Directors and Vice Presidents in searching for and recommending new business through research and financial analyses.
* Structure and negotiate buy-side and sell-side agreements for distressed M&A and chapter 11 processes.
* Participate in selling/pitch process to new clients.
* Analyze client business plans, debt capacity, competitive positioning and strategy, key-contracts and relationships, and regulatory considerations.
* Perform valuation and liquidation analyses.
* Manage analyst capacity on live and prospective transactions to ensure all phases of execution are completed and / or delegated appropriately.
Qualifications
* M.B.A. required
* Experience in restructuring and business turnarounds
* Relevant advisory experience
* Strong financial statement analysis with attention to detail
* Detailed knowledge of corporate finance and the field of restructuring
* Broad-based exposure to the full range of issues that arise in restructurings, recapitalizations, refinancings and sales of distressed companies
