Tomorrow’s Tape: Dell Tolls
Economics:
- 8:30 a.m. — Housing starts and building permits for April are due. The forecast is that they rose to a 570,000 annualized rate from 549,000 in March. Though who’s counting? Do we really need more houses?
- 9:15 a.m. — Industrial production and capacity utilization for April. The rebound has been led by a strong factory sector. Can it continue? Economists expect IP rose 0.4% in April, slower than the 0.8% gain in March. Capacity utilization is expected to be a sluggish 77.6%.
Earnings: We’ll get reports from …
- Wal-Mart
- Home Depot
- Dell, after the bell. This could be an interesting one, given how wobbly tech has been recently.
