Eight-Day Streak for Dow is a Stretch

The Dow just barely kept its winning streak alive Wednesday, edging up a miniscule 0.04%. And judging by the reaction of futures to 8:30 a.m. data deluge, it looks like the streak might end today.

Actually, the numbers weren’t so bad. The Producer Price index was slightly worse than expected, but didn’t change the overall story much. (That narrative is that the predominant pressure on prices is pushing them down, something the we already know the Fed is worried about.)

And the weekly jobless claims were actually better than expected.

Bond yields up ahead of June inflation data

Mumbai: The bond yields rose on Tuesday, after moving in a tight range, as traders braced for double-digit inflation in June and debt supply of $2.8 billion later this week.

The yield on the benchmark 10-year bond ended a basis point higher at 7.62%. It traded in a narrow band of 7.61% to 7.63%.
